Country Spark – Line Dance Instructor
Candice, aka #CountrySpark, has been line dancing on and off for almost 20 years. It all started when she was attending her other favourite past time Karaoke and she saw a lady line dancing to someone singing Karaoke and thought “I want to give this a try”. So she started going to weekly classes. Line dancing gives her the opportunity to feel connection and freedom at the same time. Connection though our common steps, shared joy and being together on the dancefloor, and freedom through self expression and how my thoughts and worries drift away with every step I take.
Growing up she figure skated, and also coached skating for a number of years prior to teching line dancing. So she had the background experience of timed movement and rhythm. Professionally she is also Early Childhood Educator since 2020 and is almost finished teachers’ college. Her love for teaching extends to all areas in her life. She is always grateful for the opportunity to work with both new and skilled dancers.
Candice always loved dancing but wanted to explore being an instructor. So she started teaching with NACE regularly in 2018 and hasn’t turned back. It’s amazing to be able to witness the joy in peoples faces as they learn the steps and master a dance. Speaking of the joy in people’s faces, you will see the “Spark”’ in Candice’s face and feet, anytime a song comes on that she knows a Line Dance for.
