Country Karma – Line Dance Instructor
Martha, better known in the dance community as “Country Karma,” has been lighting up dance floors for over 30 years. Her journey began at the YMCA in Mississauga, Ontario, where she first attended step classes. It didn’t take long before friends from the class encouraged her to try line dancing — and from that moment on, she was hooked.
What started as a fun new activity quickly became a lifelong passion. For Karma, line dancing is about far more than just learning the steps. It’s about the incredible people, the welcoming atmosphere, and the friendships that grow on the dance floor. She loves the social energy of the community and the joy that comes from moving to great country music while staying active.
As an instructor, Karma brings enthusiasm, patience, and a great sense of humor to every class she teaches. She finds the most rewarding part of teaching is seeing the excitement on dancers’ faces when they finally master a new routine. Watching beginners gain confidence and seeing smiles spread across the room is what keeps her inspired.
Originally from Newfoundland, Karma also brings a little East Coast personality to every lesson. Her classes are fun, energetic, and full of laughter, but don’t get too distracted, because as the saying goes…
pay attention while Karma is teaching, because “Karma will get you!”
